A cool, soothing, and relaxing tea with a wonderful color.

Imagine the test of warm summer sunshine in a cup.  That what this mint tea recipe tastes like… bright, mellow, and energizing.

To make it, you can use fresh mint leaves grown in your garden.  Best of all, as you’ll see when you read this mint tea recipe– it’s incredibly easy to make.

Follow these easy steps to make 2 cups:

Heat 3 cups of cold water to boiling.
Put 12-15 leaves of fresh mint in a tea infuser or a tea strainer.
Pour about 2 cups of boiling water over the leaves and into the pot.  Let them steep for about 3– 4 minutes.

While the mint is steeping, close your eyes and inhale the delicious aroma… by the time your tea is ready, you’ll feel relaxed and energized, even before you drink it.

Now, drink and enjoy!

Tip:  Keep in mind when you are steeping tea that the exact timing depends on 3 things– the type of mint, the strength of its flavor, and your own personal preference– so…  feel free to experiment!  For many, mint has a relaxing effect– and enough so that some say it leaves them feeling energized afterward– like a short nap.  Peppermint also has properties that soothe a sore throat &  helps temporarily clear congestion.

You may also use DRIED MINT LEAVES to make Mint Tea all year long– from your garden’s bounty!  If you’re using dried mint, use a rounded teaspoon full of crushed mint into the infuser or strainer.  Dried mint leaves normally require a little less time to steep– perhaps 2-3 minutes.

Feel free to experiment with the various kinds of mint available, from the more common Spearmint & Peppermint– to Chocolate Mint & Apple Mint!  Of course, Mint Tea makes the perfect refreshing summer ICED TEA as well!
